Business Description

Organizational unit is a collection of organizational cells managed by a supervisor.

The system allows creating a hierarchical structure of organizational units.

In the record's creation and edit view, user can choose the organizational unit type from values such as: Standard, Department, Business Unit, Team, Other.

In addition, user can specify the parent unit, supervisor and current manager.

Organizational unit record detail view contains the following subpanels:

  • Employees - with the list of employees working in the organizational unit,
  • Users - with the list of users associated with the organizational unit,
  • Roles - with the list of roles related to the organizational unit,
  • Member Units - with the list of subordinate units,
  • Member Positions - with the list of job positions in the organizational unit,
  • Onboarding/Offboarding Elements - with a list of tasks, trainings or interviews related to the onboarding or offboarding process for a given organizational unit.

Organizational Units perform two functions in the system. They meet the business need because they are a reflection of organizational units in the company. Additionally, they are used to control permissions in the system. More information about the last function can be found at the Organizational Unit Management and Organizational Units Settings sections at the Users Configuration page.
