Description
Job description is a functional area that describes each job in the organization: its responsibilities, required competencies, benefits, pay ranges, place in the organizational structure and career paths.
This area consists of the following modules:
Positions

The Positions module stores all positions defined in the company. A position has:
- a name, a status (Planned, Active, Inactive) and a description,
- a Supervised Unit – the organizational unit supervised by the position,
- a Supervisor (Position) – the position it reports to,
- onboarding and offboarding templates.
The Position Card summarizes the competencies and responsibilities of the position.

The related records of a position are:
- Employees working in the position,
- Recruitments carried out for the position,
- Is Member Of – organizational units the position belongs to,
- Supervised Positions,
- Documents,
- Benefits and Responsibilities,
- Expected Level of Competency – see Competency Ratings,
- Appraisals,
- Career Paths – the positions an employee can move to,
- Terms of Employment,
- Salary Ranges – defined per position for a given period (gross, net, employer cost and B2B net values),
- Organizational Units.
When a candidate is converted into an employee, the data is moved to the employee record (see Recruitment).
Competencies

A competency has a name, a description and a type: Organizational, Core, Technical, Behavioral, Functional or Management. It consists of:
- Knowledge – information required in a given area,
- Skills – the ability to apply knowledge in practice,
- Attitudes – motivation and approach to duties.
The record view also shows the Competency Ratings of the competency. A rating defines the expected level of the competency (scale 1-5 or N/A) for a position or a role.
Benefits

Benefits are additional employer benefits. A benefit can be assigned to employees, positions and roles. Employees can submit requests for benefits; a request has the status Requested, Accepted or Rejected.
Responsibilities

Responsibilities are groups of activities (Activities) assigned to positions and roles. They are also used in appraisals, as shown by the Appraisal Items subpanel.
Roles

A role is a function an employee performs in addition to their position. It has a name, a status (Planned, Active, Inactive) and a description. Like a position, a role has a Position Card with competencies and responsibilities. Its related records are organizational units, employees, benefits, responsibilities, expected level of competency and appraisals.
A role is not a position and not a system (ACL) role. If necessary, a role can be transformed into a position.
Organizational Units

Organizational units form the hierarchical structure of the company. A unit has:
- a name and a type: Standard, Company, Business Unit, Department, Team or Other,
- a parent unit, a current manager and a supervising position,
- the Not Inheritable option.
Related records are member units, member positions, onboarding/offboarding elements, employees, users and rooms. Units are also used to control permissions, see Users Configuration.
